Helps You Eat Well

All Health Check grocery products and menu items are evaluated by the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s registered dietitians! To earn the Health Check symbol, every food or menu item in the program must meet nutrient criteria, established by Health Check, based on the recommendations in Canada’s Food Guide.

Each grocery item and menu item in the Health Check program is evaluated depending on the food category on the basis of:

  • Total fat
  • Saturated fat
  • Trans fat
  • Fibre
  • Sodium
  • Sugar
  • Protein
  • Vitamins and Minerals

The Health Check logo tells you the food or menu item has been reviewed by the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s registered dietitians and can contribute to an overall healthy diet. Refer to the Nutrition Facts Table on packaging for more information about the nutrients of each product.
