The Health Check program in restaurants is based on the same guiding
principles as the symbol on food packages found in your favourite
grocery store. The Health Check symbol on menus will help you a quickly
identify healthy food options. The symbol guarantees the food has been
evaluated by the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s dietitians has met
specific nutrition criteria based on Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
The restaurant will also make available information on why the menu
choice is part of a healthy diet and a Nutrition Facts table with all
the relevant nutrition information.
