February is Heart Month

February is Heart Month.  What a terrific time to take advantage of a great resource being offered by the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The Foundation is featuring a calendar of menus for the whole month of February.  The menus were developed to ensure that each week had two fish recipes; two vegetarian recipes and a variety of meat and poultry recipes.  All recipes meet the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Health Check recipe criteria. 

Many of the recipes allow you to end up with leftovers for the next day’s dinner or lunch.  All recipes are quick and easy to prepare.  Including these recipes in your meal plans will help you to meet the nutrition recommendations from Canada’s Food Guide and at the same time have delicious meals that your family will love. Take a few minutes and check out the calendar.
